The 2019 Book Week celebrated all things SUPER about books, in an exciting, colourful reminder of the power of reading.

The auditorium was a showcase of flexing muscles, flowing locks and flying capes as Primary School classes celebrated the theme Reading is my Super Power, at Wednesday’s highly anticipated Book Week Parade.

Cedar College was in safe hands as superheroes such as Spiderman, Wonder Woman, Avengers characters and even “Vowel Bat” kept the villains at bay. Students who chose to dress as a favourite book character were just as impressive – with magic unicorns, mad hatters, scruffy dogs, mermaids and monsters in nappies adding to the fun!

Books, art and more! 

New books to enjoy were purchased at the highly successful Scholastic Book Fair, while an Upper Primary art exhibition inspired by this year’s shortlisted books also attracted plenty of visitors. Many thanks to the Library staff and volunteers for their hard work hosting the Book Fair and creating exciting displays for the Resource Centre.
