Highlights from 2023

The Cedar College community is one that wants to discover more about Jesus every day, display real, tangible love, that can be felt by everyone around them, and helps students to develop themselves to be the best that they can be.

Our staff persistently pursue excellence in teaching and learning, while simultaneously tending to the spiritual, physical, social, and emotional needs of students. Their desire is to foster confidence and resilience, contributing to each student’s growth.

We recognise that great schools are a shared responsibility, and we are fortunate at Cedar College to have a dynamic and committed community of parents who have given us their support and trust throughout 2023.

On the official Census Day, in August 2023, our student enrolment was 876. Of this number, 382 were enrolled in the Primary School (R-6), 252 in the Middle School (7-9) and 242 were enrolled in the Senior School (10-12).

Academic Performance 2023

Every graduating student achieved their South Australian Certificate of Education, as has been the case for many years at Cedar.

In terms of the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR), 26% of our graduating Year 12s achieved an ATAR of greater than 90, placing them in the top 10% of students in South Australia. Additionally, 42% of our students achieved an ATAR of 80 or more, placing them in the top 20% of students in the state. Remarkably, we also had 16% of our students achieve an ATAR higher than 95.

It is also worth noting that 89% of the grades awarded to our Year 12s in 2023 were either an A or a B, further highlighting the outstanding results achieved by Cedar students. Our students also received five SACE Merits for outstanding achievement within a subject.

Our students also received 5 SACE Merits for outstanding achievement within a subject.

We continue to be very proud of the outstanding results that our Year 12s achieve and feel extremely blessed to be part of a school community where students can fulfil their God-given academic gifts, and progress to exciting post-school opportunities and pathways.

SACE 2023 Information

NAPLAN 2023

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) assesses all students in Australian schools in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9.

The majority of NAPLAN 2023 was undertaken online, testing students in reading, writing, language conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy. It is a nationwide measure to see whether or not young Australians are developing the literacy and numeracy skills that provide the critical foundation for other learning and for their productive and rewarding participation in the community. The results for each of the five NAPLAN assessment areas (or domains) are reported on a common NAPLAN scale.

Cedar College publishes NAPLAN results in our 2023 Annual Report which is available for download. NAPLAN results are also available in full from the MySchool website.
